Kannelmäki
In the Kannelmäki area, the northernmost section of the West Helsinki Light Rail line will be constructed. The works include building a new tramway, renewing streets, upgrading municipal infrastructure, and making changes to bridges and traffic arrangements.
Kantelettarentie
Construction period: 2/2029–9/2029
The northernmost part of the project area is located at the intersection of Pelimannintie and Kantelettarentie. A tramway line and related street and municipal infrastructure works will be constructed on Kantelettarentie. Once the tramway is completed, the terminus of Tram Line 14 will be located on Kantelettarentie.
As part of the construction, traffic arrangements will also be renewed: the roundabout in front of the Kaari shopping centre will be removed and replaced with a signal-controlled intersection.
Ring Road I bridge
Construction period: 7/2027–12/2028
Bridge and structural works related to the construction of the tramway will be carried out on the Ring Road I bridge. The existing bridge will be demolished and replaced with a new bridge that will allow the tramway to pass through. The works will be carried out in phases: a temporary bridge will first be built in the area, and traffic will be diverted onto it while the existing bridge is demolished and the new bridge is constructed.
